Within the scope of the visit organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey to Algeria, inspections were made at the Tosyalı Algerie facilities. Saying that Tosyalı Algerie is the largest investment of a Turkish company abroad and at the same time one of the most important complexes realized in the world steel industry in recent years, Fuat Tosyalı, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tosyalı Holding, said, “Tosyalı Algerie, which stands out in global competition with the technologies we use, is Direct Reduced Iron. Thanks to its (DRI) technology, it is among the facilities that produce the greenest and most environmentally friendly steel in the world.

Ranking 82nd among world steel producers in 2020 according to the data of the World Steel Producers Association, Tosyalı Holding continues its 4th stage investments in Algeria uninterruptedly.

World record from Tosyalı Algerie
The first stage of Tosyalı Algerie was completed in 2013, the second stage in 2015 and the third stage in 2018. Tosyalı Algerie, which hosts the world’s largest DRI production facilities with an annual capacity of 2.5 million tons, and the world’s largest arc furnace working with DRI, broke the world record by reaching a production figure of 2.23 million tons/year in 2020.

Tosyalı Holding, a group with international knowledge in the management and operation of industrial and industrial zones, also continues its investments in port management. In addition to the existing port operation in Iskenderun in Turkey and the planned port investment in Erzin, Tosyalı also has a large port investment in Algeria. This port operation in Algeria, which allows 200,000 DWT vessels to berth and evacuate, is the largest port in Algeria with its ship berthing and 150 thousand tons of unloading capacity. Thanks to the 12 km conveyor belt system, which is one of the longest lines in Europe, 4,000 tons of transportation can be made per hour from the port to the factory without using any vehicle.
