‘Türk Prysmian Kablo’ Exports 40% of the Cables It Produces

Located in the Mudanya district of Bursa since 1964, Türk Prysmian Kablo can produce 22 thousand different types of cables in its factory, which is established on an area of ​​180,000 square meters. About 40% of the cables it produces, mainly in the Republics of Turkey and the Middle East countries; Exporting to more than 40 countries, Türk Prysmian Kablo increased its export turnover by 37% in 2020 to 665,113,320 TL.

Türk Prysmian Kablo, which has produced millions of km of cable for 57 years in Turkey, one of the 50 countries where the world cable giant Prysmian Group operates, offers its innovative and sustainable solutions to the world. Among the cables produced by Türk Prysmian Kablo, which can produce 22 thousand different cable types in its factory in Mudanya; There are all energy cables up to 220 kV, communication cables with copper conductors up to 3,600 pairs, fiber optic cables and special cables used in industrial applications. In addition, Türk Prysmian continues to provide unique and superior services to all its customers by making “Turnkey” projects for cables and systems.

Noting that they continue to contribute to domestic and value-added production with innovative and high-performance cable solutions, Türk Prysmian Kablo CEO Ülkü Özcan said, “The Turkish cable industry has a very important place when we consider the geographical location of our country. We export approximately 40 percent of the cables we produce to the Republics of Turkey and the Middle East countries. Based on this idea, we focused more on our R&D studies in 2020, and as a result, we achieved a 14.4% increase in our R&D expenditures. Our export turnover in 2020 increased by 37 percent compared to the previous year and amounted to 665,113,320 TL. In 2021, we will continue to develop innovative products that support sustainability in energy and telecommunication infrastructures. To increase the sales of ‘green’ products while continuing to work for better tomorrows with the projects we have implemented; We will continue to contribute to making energy and telecommunications accessible to all, and to support the production of renewable energy and sustainable technologies.”

“We are more advanced than many developed countries in the cable industry”

Ülkü Özcan pointed out that the Turkish cable industry, which has grown in parallel with the developments in the construction, energy and communication sectors, has reached a level that can compete in the global cable industry and export to all countries of the world with its production technologies at international standards, educated workforce, R&D studies and increasing quality awareness. “The Turkish cable industry is in a very important position around the world. The fact that more than half of the total production of cable manufacturers in our country is exported is the biggest indicator of this. The technology accessed by cable manufacturers in Turkey is at a level that can compete with other manufacturers in the world. We are even more advanced than many developed countries. According to the studies and statistics made in recent years, the total size of the domestic and international sales of the Turkish cable industry is around 3-4 billion dollars today, and the 20 companies in the first place account for 80-90 percent of the total production and turnover of the cable manufacturers in Turkey. is performing. On the other hand, the increase in incentive activities in the field of supporting R&D and the use of domestic products in domestic projects and the increase in the importance given to localization positively affect the domestic market.
