Domestic Waste Collection Service is Made with 100% Electric Trucks

The Municipality of Neuilly-sur-Seine, near Paris, decided to use electrical energy for the collection of household waste, while strengthening its fleet with an additional 10 100% electric Renault Trucks D Wide Z.E trucks.

SUEZ and Renault Trucks continue to work to reduce CO2 emissions and improve the quality of life of citizens. The first D Wide Z.E. SUEZ and Renault after the truck went into operation for waste collection services in the region of 63,000 residents in July 2020.

Trucks gave a positive evaluation of this partnership. Electric technology, which is very suitable for the collection of domestic waste, makes a great contribution to the ecological footprint and the comfort of both users and citizens with zero local emissions and CO2 emissions reduced up to 95%.

Christophe Martin, General Manager of Renault Trucks France, in his statement on the subject; “A contract to this extent demonstrates the maturity of electrical technology and the trend of the market. Our electric trucks best meet the operational needs of our customers. All indicators are turning green and as pioneers we face fewer barriers to sales of vehicles,” he said. Renault Trucks targets 10% of its sales to be electric vehicles by 2025.

Fabrice Rossignol, Vice President of SUEZ Waste Management and Recycling France; “Within the framework of our long-standing cooperation, Renault Trucks perfectly meets SUEZ’s expectations in terms of fully electric vehicles. The operational expertise we have developed together is the work of local authorities such as Neuilly-sur-Seine, who want to manage environmentally friendly and sustainable waste collection operations while preserving the quality of life of citizens. This partnership also aligns with the SUEZ Group’s goal of reducing CO2 emissions by 45% by 2030,” he explains.

The Mayor of Neuilly-sur-Seine, Jean-Christophe Fromantin, explains his satisfaction with the use of these new vehicles, which meet the city’s special needs to improve the quality of service; “These zero-emission trucks are part of our ambitious approach to reducing our carbon footprint. At the Municipality of Neuilly-Sur-Seine, where almost 39% of our fleet is electric vehicles, we are pioneers in decarbonizing vehicles used in public services.”
