According to a new analysis from the findings of the International Institute for Sustainable Development, 12 percent of the public finance provided by the G20 and Multilateral Development Banks for natural gas projects in developing countries between 2017-19 was released by Urgevald in October, from the World Bank. That’s according to the Emissions Gap Report by UN Environment Programme (UNEP), which suggests the richest 1% will need to reduce their current emissions by at least a factor of 30 to help the planet meet the 1.5°C goal of the Paris Agreement.
