At the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, over 1 GW of solar photovoltaic panels are currently operating. With a combined investment of $13.6 billion, this value is targeted to reach 5GW by 2030; thus, approximately 6.5 million tons of CO2 emissions will be saved annually.

Shuaa Energy 1, the second phase of the solar park with 200 MW, became operational in 2017. The facility uses fixed-pitch thin-film technology, has more than 2.3 million solar panels, and produces clean energy equivalent to the energy consumption of 50,000 residences in the Emirate.
