The said package, which aims to reduce EU greenhouse gas emissions by 55 percent, is closely related to Turkish companies that export or will export to the European Union. Altensis Co-Founder Dr. Emre Ilıcalı said that the package, which imposes additional taxes on industrial products to be imported by EU countries according to carbon emissions, is an important warning that reveals the seriousness of the EU on climate change.</strong></p>

<p>The Turkey leg of the Zero Carbon Buildings project, implemented by the Energy Efficiency in Buildings Platform supported by GEF, and implemented by the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), begins.</p>
<p>Within the scope of the project, finance models will be put forward with the support of private sector stakeholders and development banks, together with local governments to invest in zero carbon buildings.</p>

Energy efficiency constitutes one of the five dimensions of the European Commission&#8217;s Energy Union Strategy, designed to enhance energy security, sustainability and competitiveness. It is one of the fastest and most cost effective ways to reduce CO2 emissions, contribute to energy security, and help to create new jobs and make European organisations more competitive.</p>
<p>The JRC provides key scientific support to the third dimension of the <strong>Energy Union (Energy Efficiency Contributing to the Moderation of Demand)</strong> and assesses the role of the<strong> efficiency improvements</strong> in reducing <strong>GHG emissions</strong> in<strong> energy intensive industries</strong> in support of the EU Emission Trading System (one component of the fourth dimension of the Energy Union).</p>
