The Global Electricity Industry Review report by Ember analyzed electricity data from 63 countries representing 87% of electricity demand. As the world recovered from the negative effects of the global new type of coronavirus (Kovid-19) epidemic last year, the report compared the first 6 months of 2021 with the same period of 2019 to reveal how the clean energy transformation took place.

Emissions originating from the electricity sector on a global scale started to increase again after the record decline seen last year as a result of the measures taken to prevent the epidemic.
