B\u00fcy\u00fck seyreltilmi\u015f uranyum ve \u00fcretilmi\u015f pl\u00fctonyum stokunun yak\u0131t d\u00f6ng\u00fcs\u00fcne kazand\u0131r\u0131lmas\u0131 n\u00fckleer g\u00fc\u00e7 end\u00fcstrisinin kaynak taban\u0131n\u0131 geni\u015fletmeyi ve do\u011fal uranyum t\u00fcketiminin azalt\u0131lmas\u0131n\u0131 sa\u011flayacakt\u0131r.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Modern n\u00fckleer g\u00fc\u00e7 end\u00fcstrisinin temelini olu\u015fturan termik n\u00f6tron reakt\u00f6rlerinde, \u00e7\u0131kar\u0131lan do\u011fal uranyumun yakla\u015f\u0131k y\u00fczde 1\u2019i t\u00fcketiliyor, geri kalan y\u00fczde 99&#8217;luk k\u0131s\u0131m ge\u00e7ici depolamaya aktar\u0131l\u0131yor ya da radyoaktif at\u0131k olarak elden \u00e7\u0131kar\u0131l\u0131yor.<\/p>\n<p>Uranyum ve pl\u00fctonyum oksitlerinin kar\u0131\u015f\u0131m\u0131n\u0131 yak\u0131t olarak kullanan h\u0131zl\u0131 n\u00f6tron reakt\u00f6rleri ise, kendi ihtiya\u00e7lar\u0131 i\u00e7in yeterli pl\u00fctonyumu \u00fcretebiliyorken di\u011fer reakt\u00f6rler i\u00e7in de belirli miktarda yak\u0131t \u00fcretebiliyor.
