K\u00f6m\u00fcr tipi kaya\u00e7 olarak da nitelendirilen bit\u00fcml\u00fc \u015feyl, termik santrallerde yak\u0131t olarak kullan\u0131labiliyor ve bu sayede elektrik \u00fcretimi ger\u00e7ekle\u015ftirilebiliyor. Bit\u00fcml\u00fc \u015feylin buradan artan k\u0131sm\u0131 da \u00e7imento ve tu\u011fla sanayinde de\u011ferlendiriliyor. Ba\u015fta Estonya olmak \u00fczere \u00c7in, Rusya, \u00dcrd\u00fcn, \u0130srail, Brezilya, ABD ve Avustralya, bu madenden petrol ve gaz \u00fcretimi ger\u00e7ekle\u015ftiriyor.
