Solar developer Lightsource bp has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with fast food giant McDonald\u2019s for a 145MWac\/180MWdc PV project in Louisiana.<\/h2>\n<p>McDonald\u2019s will offtake the entirety of the power produced at the Prairie Ronde solar project, which is expected to generate around 327,000MWh annually.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright wp-image-170196\" src=\"https:\/\/www.enerjigazetesi.ist\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/mcdonalds-180mwlik-ges-anlasmasi-imzaladi.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"320\" height=\"233\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.enerjigazetesi.ist\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/mcdonalds-180mwlik-ges-anlasmasi-imzaladi.jpg 550w, https:\/\/www.enerjigazetesi.ist\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/mcdonalds-180mwlik-ges-anlasmasi-imzaladi-300x219.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.enerjigazetesi.ist\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/mcdonalds-180mwlik-ges-anlasmasi-imzaladi-500x365.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.enerjigazetesi.ist\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/mcdonalds-180mwlik-ges-anlasmasi-imzaladi-69x50.jpg 69w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 320px) 100vw, 320px\" \/>This is the second deal between McDonald\u2019s and Lightsource bp in Louisiana, the first being a PPA signed for a\u00a0345MWdc Baton Rouge solar project.<\/p>\n<p>Lightsource bp will handle financing, construction and operation of the facility \u2013 construction is set to begin in early 2023 with commercial operation set for late 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Lightsource said that it will invest <strong>US$3.9 million<\/strong> a year in maintaining the facility and the surrounding land.<\/p>\n<p>Mcdonald\u2019s signed a\u00a0<strong>PPA with Enel North America<\/strong>\u00a0in December for 189MW of power produced at the Blue Jay solar farm in Texas.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, Lightsource bp closed a\u00a0<strong>US$267 million tax equity deal\u00a0<\/strong>for a 481MW US solar portfolio, designed to support the construction of a <strong>346MW<\/strong> Louisiana PV project amongst others.<\/p>\n<p>The American Clean Power Association published research last month showing that\u00a0<strong>14.4GW of corporate solar PPAs<\/strong>\u00a0were signed in the US in 2022, with large tech companies procuring the most.
