The increase in <strong>primary energy<\/strong> in 2021 was driven by <strong>emerging economies<\/strong>, especially China, BP said, as <strong>COVID-related mobility restrictions<\/strong> were eased and <strong>industries bounced back<\/strong> last year.<\/p>\n<p>The jump in energy demand and rebounding<strong> global economic growth<\/strong> also led to a surge in<strong> carbon dioxide emissions<\/strong> last year compared to <strong>2020<\/strong>.
