Karsan, which is one of the important players of public transportation thanks to its electric vehicles serving in 16 different countries of Europe, realized nearly 90% of Turkey’s electric bus and minibus exports in the last 3 years.

“We broke new ground”

Karsan CEO Okan Baş evaluated the success of e-ATAK in Europe and said, “We broke new ground in electric vehicle projects in 2021. We made a framework agreement with Consip for 80 e-ATAKs in Italy and we have already received the first 11 orders. In addition, we won the e-ATAK tender of the Municipality of Cagliari for the first time in Italy and we will deliver them this year. In Germany, we delivered 5 e-ATAKs to the Weilheim Municipality, which is a public institution for the first time. We entered the Luxembourg market for the first time with e-ATAK. With the driverless version of Karsan e-ATAK, our test drives have started at Michigan State University and Norway to carry passengers in real traffic conditions. After e-JEST, the first electric minibus of Bulgaria and adopted as Metrobus Bebe even in Mexico, it is pleasing that Karsan e-ATAK has achieved the segment leadership in Europe.”

“It will have a great contribution to our double growth target”

Karsan CEO Okan Baş said, “We want to grow at least 2 times in the European market in electric vehicles. We appeal to the entire market with our electrical product range extending from 6 to 18 m, and we aim to be one of the top 5 players in the European market. The cards are being mixed again and we will position the Karsan brand in the top 5 in Europe with our electric development vision e-Volution. Our e-ATAK model, the leader of the electric midibus class, is one of our most important products in this sense, with its size, capacity and technology. Our Karsan e-ATAK model, which has also won the title of the first autonomous technology bus to carry passengers in the city in Europe, will also contribute greatly to our growth target.”

e-ATAK offers a range of 300 km

Developed by Karsan R&D, e-ATAK gets its power from proven BMW batteries with 220 kWh capacity.
