In accordance with this goal, a further expansion of the electricity network is planned and the<strong> renewable energy capacities<\/strong> to be allocated through tenders should be<strong> \u201cdynamically\u201d<\/strong> adjusted. In addition, more funds will be provided for the further <strong>implementation of Germany&#8217;s renewable energy law (EEG)<\/strong> and long-term <strong>power purchase agreements<\/strong> will be supported by more favorable regulatory conditions.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, <strong>the coalition decided<\/strong> to raise the country&#8217;s <strong>2030 solar energy target<\/strong> from <strong>100<\/strong> to<strong> 200 GW<\/strong>. The country&#8217;s cumulative solar capacity topped\u00a0<strong>56.5 GW at the end of September.<\/strong> This means that another<strong> 143.5 GW<\/strong> of <strong>PV capacity<\/strong> will have to be deployed during the current decade.<\/p>\n<p>The agreement also includes the<strong> gradual phasing out<\/strong> of <em>all coal power plants<\/em> <strong>by 2030<\/strong>.<em> \u201c<span class=\"VIiyi\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"JLqJ4b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"de\" data-phrase-index=\"0\" data-number-of-phrases=\"1\">That requires the massive expansion of renewable energies that we are striving for<\/span><\/span>,\u201d<\/em> the coalition stated.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The leaders of Germany&#8217;s new government coalition, formed by the Green party, the Liberal party (FDP) and the Social-democrat party (SPD) have presented, yesterday, their 177-page program for the next four years.
