Timed to coincide with the Glasgow climate summit, the new music video includes a cameo by a computer-generated dinosaur who delivers the message, \u201cDon\u2019t choose extinction,\u201d as part of UNDP\u2019s global campaign urging the world to curb carbon emissions before it is too late.<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The new song is available on major audio streaming platforms and the music video will be available at <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/undpturkiye\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>UNDP Turkey\u2019s YouTube channel&gt;&gt;<\/strong><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> shortly after the release.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright wp-image-145685\" src=\"https:\/\/www.enerjigazetesi.ist\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/sertab-erener-ve-undp-turkiye-den-guc-birligi-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"320\" height=\"283\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.enerjigazetesi.ist\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/sertab-erener-ve-undp-turkiye-den-guc-birligi-2.jpg 550w, https:\/\/www.enerjigazetesi.ist\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/sertab-erener-ve-undp-turkiye-den-guc-birligi-2-300x266.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.enerjigazetesi.ist\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/sertab-erener-ve-undp-turkiye-den-guc-birligi-2-452x400.jpg 452w, https:\/\/www.enerjigazetesi.ist\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/sertab-erener-ve-undp-turkiye-den-guc-birligi-2-56x50.jpg 56w, https:\/\/www.enerjigazetesi.ist\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/sertab-erener-ve-undp-turkiye-den-guc-birligi-2-500x443.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 320px) 100vw, 320px\" \/>\u201cTime is running out to save the planet,\u201d said Louisa Vinton, UNDP Resident Representative in Turkey. \u201cThat is why we are so proud to partner with Sertab Erener to translate our call to action into a song whose idealistic lyrics and compelling beat will bring our message to a new and wider audience with the power to demand change.\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cClimate change and the global pandemic are pushing the limits of our planet, and it is always those with the fewest resources who are suffering the worst consequences,\u201d said Sertab Erener. \u201cThat is why, as an artist, and as a woman, I felt compelled to use music to try to make the world a better place, with justice and equality for all.\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sertab Erener is one of Turkey\u2019s best-known pop stars. Her performance of \u201cEvery Way That I Can\u201d was Turkey\u2019s winning entry in the 2003 Eurovision competition. Long a social activist, she has supported campaigns for rural education in Turkey, improved healthcare for Iraqi children with leukaemia, and humanitarian aid for victims of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. In 2018, she released the single &#8220;Bast\u0131r\u0131n K\u0131zlar,&#8221; which has become a flagship song for gender equality in Turkey. Most recently she supported the COVID-19 vaccination campaign in Turkey.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The text of the new song incorporates all 17 SDGs that were adopted by all UN member states in 2015. Although the countries all pledged to achieve the SDGs by 2030, progress has been slow and, in some areas, the COVID-19 pandemic has caused setbacks. In line with the philosophy of the SDGs \u2013 \u201cto leave no one behind\u201d \u2013 UNDP has been urging countries to redouble their commitments and encouraging individuals to get involved.
