Pasif evler k\u00fcresel iklim de\u011fi\u015fikli\u011finin etkilerinin azalt\u0131lmas\u0131 i\u00e7in \u00f6nemli bir rol oynamaktad\u0131r; \u00e7\u00fcnk\u00fc bu evlerde enerji ihtiyac\u0131 ya yoktur ya da \u00e7ok azd\u0131r. \u00c7o\u011funlukla t\u00fcketti\u011finden daha fazla enerji \u00fcretir. Binalar\u0131n d\u0131\u015f cepheleri veya pencerelere uygulanan fotovoltaik sistemle bu yap\u0131lar g\u00fcne\u015f enerjisini do\u011frudan kullanan te\u00e7hizatlara d\u00f6n\u00fc\u015ft\u00fcr\u00fcl\u00fcr, \u00e7at\u0131larda bulunan panellerden elektrik \u00fcretilir . Pencerelerde k\u0131z\u0131l-\u00f6tesi yans\u0131tma vard\u0131r, hava bo\u015fluklar\u0131 kapat\u0131lm\u0131\u015f camlardan g\u00fcne\u015f enerjisi i\u00e7eriye girer ve burada hapsedilir.
