The city\u2019s utility company G\u00f6teborg Energi opted to use the bio-based and biodegradable insulating liquid in a transformer located in a sensitive water protection area.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-137280\" src=\"https:\/\/www.enerjigazetesi.ist\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/nytro-bio-300x-goteborg-isvecte-performans-vaatlerini-kanitliyor-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"282\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.enerjigazetesi.ist\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/nytro-bio-300x-goteborg-isvecte-performans-vaatlerini-kanitliyor-2.jpg 550w, https:\/\/www.enerjigazetesi.ist\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/nytro-bio-300x-goteborg-isvecte-performans-vaatlerini-kanitliyor-2-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.enerjigazetesi.ist\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/nytro-bio-300x-goteborg-isvecte-performans-vaatlerini-kanitliyor-2-500x282.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.enerjigazetesi.ist\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/nytro-bio-300x-goteborg-isvecte-performans-vaatlerini-kanitliyor-2-80x45.jpg 80w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs the transformer is located near a source of drinking water, we needed to make absolutely sure that no oil is spilled in the area, and we needed to use an insulating liquid that is highly biodegradable,\u201d says Ferruccio Vuinovich, Planning Engineer, G\u00f6teborg Energi.<\/p>\n<p>Developed as an alternative to mineral insulating oil and ester liquids, NYTRO\u00ae BIO 300X offers a highly sustainable option. Produced from hydrocarbon by-products, it actually has a negative carbon footprint.<\/p>\n<p>G\u00f6teborg Energi decided to test the performance of NYTRO\u00ae BIO 300X by using it in one of three identical 40 MVA transformers installed in Gothenburg.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis enabled us to evaluate and confirm some of the features promoted by Nynas,\u201d Ferruccio Vuinovich says.<\/p>\n<p>Already when filling the transformer during the Swedish mid-winter, the benefit of the bio-based liquid\u2019s ultralow viscosity was immediately evident.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe low viscosity, even at low temperature, made it very easy to handle. It was almost like filling the transformer with water,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<p>However, the application-beating low viscosity of NYTRO\u00ae BIO 300X also provides enhanced cooling in the transformer. This too was evident in G\u00f6teborg Energi\u2019s transformer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-137282\" src=\"https:\/\/www.enerjigazetesi.ist\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/nytro-bio-300x-goteborg-isvecte-performans-vaatlerini-kanitliyor-1-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"234\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.enerjigazetesi.ist\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/nytro-bio-300x-goteborg-isvecte-performans-vaatlerini-kanitliyor-1-1.jpg 550w, https:\/\/www.enerjigazetesi.ist\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/nytro-bio-300x-goteborg-isvecte-performans-vaatlerini-kanitliyor-1-1-300x140.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.enerjigazetesi.ist\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/nytro-bio-300x-goteborg-isvecte-performans-vaatlerini-kanitliyor-1-1-500x234.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.enerjigazetesi.ist\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/nytro-bio-300x-goteborg-isvecte-performans-vaatlerini-kanitliyor-1-1-80x37.jpg 80w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have been able to achieve around 10 degrees lower temperatures in the transformer, improving the performance without the risk of overloads. It also opens the potential of using smaller transformers in certain locations. This is something we might look into in the future,\u201d says Ferruccio Vuinovich.<\/p>\n<p>The fact that NYTRO\u00ae BIO 300X is fully renewable and recyclable is obviously also important for G\u00f6teborg Energi, as the utility has set tough sustainability targets for its operations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith Nynas\u2019 NYTRO\u00ae BIO 300X, the sustainability improvement of the transformer can be combined with an improved performance.
