Global investors managing nearly $7tn (\u00a35.2bn) of assets plan to almost double their spending on renewable energy infrastructure over the next five years amid deepening concerns over the fossil fuel \"\"industry\u2019s climate plans, according to a report.<\/h1>\n

A survey of institutional investors<\/strong> found that they are planning\u00a0to increase their renewable energy investments\u00a0<\/strong>from 4.2%<\/strong> of their overall portfolio to 8.3%<\/strong> in the next five years and 10.8%<\/strong> within the next decade to about $742.5bn.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The survey of more than 100 investors<\/strong>, representing $6.9tn<\/strong> of assets under management, found that 83%<\/strong> did not believe the plans put forward by oil<\/strong> and gas companies<\/strong> would be enough to meet the Paris climate<\/strong> agreement goals.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
