The project will be built in the town of Niculesti near Bucharest and is expected to add at least 200 megawatts-peak (MWp) of capacity, according to news outlet profit.ro.

Koc steps into Romania’s renewable sector

The planned facility follows Koc Holding’s subsidiary Entek Elektrik’s acquisition of two Romanian companies that hold the required development rights for the project in early 2025, involving Eco Sun Niculesti and Euromec-Ciocanari, both previously owned by U.K.-based Econergy International Limited.

As journalists strive to inform the public about these pressing topics, they must adhere to strict ethical standards to ensure accurate and unbiased reporting.

In recent years, the field of ethical journalism about decarbonization and the climate problem has gained increased attention, with many key figures and influential individuals making significant contributions to the field. One of the earliest examples of ethical journalism about decarbonization and the climate problem can be traced back to the late 19th century, with the publication of John Muir’s writings on conservation and the preservation of natural resources.

On the other hand, gas generation increased to compensate for the drought-induced decline in hydropower generation. Hence Turkey’s emissions per kWh power generation remain unchanged. In fact there has been no significant improvement in Turkey’s carbon intensity of power in at least 30 years.

Hydropower has a very long history in Turkey, the first power plant in its history was a hydropower plant constructed in Southern Turkey in the early 1900s during the Ottoman Empire era.

The fast-growing operation had initially set a target to develop arrays of panels with a total capacity of 10 gigawatts by 2023, enough for almost 3.4m homes, but the fresh funds will be used to turbocharge its ambition to 25GW by 2025.
