The invasion of Ukraine has highlighted the geopolitical liability for the European Union from fossil fuel imports from autocratic regimes. In response, the European Union is for ways to replace Russian gas imports in the short term, taking critical decisions over investment in infrastructure and economic relationships.

Continuing to strengthen its portfolio in the field of renewable energy, Cengiz Energy started its wind power plant investment. In his speech at the Konya Energy Summit and Fair, which he attended via videoconference, Minister of Energy Dönmez explained that the Turkish energy sector has advanced to an exemplary position in the region and in the world with investments and innovative applications.

A transition towards a low-carbon economy is forecast to boost output and employment growth in the EU thanks to a spur in investment in clean energy, according to a new report released on Tuesday. An analysis run by Cambridge Econometrics and EU agency Eurofound’s European jobs monitor calculated that the EU28 GDP would be 1.1 per cent higher by 2030 in case of the Paris Climate agreement was implemented compared to the baseline scenario.
