Parties to the 2015 Paris Agreement pledged to limit global warming to well below 2 °C and to pursue efforts to limit the temperature increase to 1.5 °C relative to pre-industrial times1.

While the establishment of a huge green hydrogen plant that will produce with solar and wind power in the Inner Mongolia location has been approved by China, the facility will produce 66,900 tons of green hydrogen per year with 1.85 gigawatts of solar power and 370 megawatts of wind power capacity.

While the project is scheduled to begin in October and be operational by mid-2021, the plant needs at least 465 megawatts of electrolyzer to produce said quantities of hydrogen.

Yapı Kredi became the first institution to commit to the “Business Ambition for 1.5°C” to the Science Based Target Initiative.

The year-end oil price forecast by the American investment bank JP Morgan was reduced by $5 per barrel.
