<p>Wang Bohua, Honorary President of the China Photovoltaic Industry Association, said in a presentation that the total solar power capacity increased by 25.8% compared to last year, reaching 340 GW. Total installations over the year are expected to be between 75 GW and 90 GW in 2022, Wang said, beating last year&#8217;s record of 54.9 GW.</p>

<p>While solar power capacity in China is predicted to reach a record level with new investments that will come into operation this year, according to the China Photovoltaic Industry Association (CPIA) data, it is predicted that China&#8217;s solar power capacity will increase by 75-90 GW in 2022.</p>
<p>CPIA President Wang Bohua emphasized that China has the opportunity to increase its solar power capacity by 83-99,000 MW each year in the period 2022-2025.</p>

<p class="dcr-s23rjr">The fast-growing operation had initially set a target to develop arrays of panels with a total capacity of 10 gigawatts by 2023, enough for almost 3.4m homes, but the fresh funds will be used to turbocharge its ambition to 25GW by 2025.</p>
