Another permit has been obtained for the construction of the on-board small modular reactor plant (SMR) with RITM-200N reactor to be built in the Sakha Republic of Yakutia in northeastern Siberia. The Russian Nuclear Safety Authority has granted a license to Rusatom Overseas A.Ş., a subsidiary of Rosatom, for the construction of a 50-megawatt SMR to be installed in the region.

Rosatom and Nornickel have signed an additional agreement to complete their 2018 collaboration agreements. The additional agreement will last until 2030, which will be a testament to the strategic partnership between the 2 companies. With this agreement, the parties aim to cooperate with an uninterrupted and environmentally friendly integrated icebreaker for ships sailing on the Northern Sea Route. The signing ceremony took place as part of the “Arctic Day” event organized by Rosatom.

The document includes expanding the cooperation of the parties, as Nornickel plans to increase shipping traffic along the Northern Sea Route.

FSUE Atomflot, operating under the Russian State Atomic Energy Agency Rosatom, and Turkey Kuzey Star Shipyard Maritime Industry and Trade Joint Stock Company signed the agreement for the construction of a floating port for universal nuclear icebreakers within the scope of Project 22220.

The procurement procedure was carried out within the framework of the Federal Law of the Russian Federation No. 223-FZ “On the Purchase of Goods, Works, Services of Certain Types of Legal Entities” and in accordance with the Russian State Atomic Energy Agency Rosatom United industry purchasing standards.
