The European Council passed the European Parliament last week and approved the EU climate law. The law will be in effect 20 days after the EU’s official publication.

EU countries signed an agreement to reduce carbon emissions of trucks and buses by 2030 by 30 percent compared to 2019.

Austria, the EU presidency president, announced that EU ministers’ environmental ministers agreed to reduce the carbon emissions of trucks and buses by 2030 by 20 percent compared to 2019.

As an interim target, the target is to reduce emissions by 15% by 2025 and by 2022 by 2022.

The European Parliament has called for the construction of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline to be cancelled.
