Solar energy led the way, with significant deployments in energy storage as well.</p>

<p>According to the US Department of Energy’s EIA, the United States connected 20.2 GW (AC) of utility-scale power plants to the grid during the first half of 2024. This capacity includes 12 GW of solar, which represents 59% of the total additions.</p>

<p>Discussions were officially launched with a meeting with the representatives of both Cypriot communities, chaired by Mario Nava, Director-General for Structural Reform Support at the European Commission.</p>
<p>The pre-feasibility study, funded under the EU aid programme for the Turkish Cypriot community and carried out in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme, envisages a solar power plant of <strong>36MW</strong> capacity located in the buffer zone, using photovoltaics and <strong>batteries with a storage</strong> capacity of <strong>3 hours</strong>.</p>

In addition to these grants, 15 projects will benefit from project development assistance worth up to 4.4 million euros, with the aim of advancing their maturity.</p>

GoodWe CEO and founder Daniel Huang, along with the Board of Directors and Company partners, laid the foundation for the investment in the project.</p>
<p>Since GoodWe&#8217;s listing in 2020, investor capital has propelled the company into a new phase of rapid development. <p>The total <strong>energy storage market</strong> is expected to grow to <strong>$546 billion</strong> in annual revenue <strong>by 2035</strong>, up from just <strong>$59 billion</strong> in 2019, according to a report released by <strong>Lux Research</strong>.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, <strong>the stationary storage market</strong> will surpass the electronic devices market as early as 2023, when it is projected to become a <strong>$30 billion</strong> industry of <strong>52 GWh</strong> in installations.</p>

And batteries are the key challenge to making those electric cars work. Now, a new study says that those batteries may also be the key to reducing the power sector’s emissions by increasing efficiency.</p>
<p>The study by Element Energy, commissioned by energy companies Enel and Iberdrola, carmaker Renault and the NGO Transport &amp; Environment, said that a smart deployment of electric cars which charge at low-demand times and batteries that feed back into the grid at high-demand times would reduce the need to build additional grid storage and power plants.</p>
