While Daikin, the pioneer of the air-conditioning industry, aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to net zero in 2050, Daikin Turkey has also published its first ‘Sustainability Report’, announcing the work carried out within this framework.

Accordingly, Daikin has increased efficiency in its products with energy efficient inverter technology and R-32, a refrigerant with a lower global warming potential, while preventing damage to the ozone layer. With the localization project, it provides a cost advantage of 2 million euros with the products it buys from Turkey.

Customer-sited solar is a significant opportunity, which will materialize in the coming decades and bring change to energy markets and power network operations. There has been significant debate about how best to structure incentives and regulations around customer-sited solar – and more recently solar-plus-storage – and the considerations are complex.
