TÜREB’s ‘Wind Energy Investor Guide’ Has Been Published

The “RES Investor’s Guide” published by the Turkish Wind Energy Association (TÜREB), includes all permits, licenses, etc. It was planned to explain the business processes and topics in detail.

The guide prepared with the support and opinion of the representatives of the investor companies in the sector as well as the experts from the relevant administrations; The investment process consists of five main parts: project development, associate degree, license, Ministry approval and operation. The following details were included in the 5 main sections of the guide published before the recently announced 2.000 MW Mini YEKA RES competitions:

Project development: Preliminary analyzes of the investor’s possible project site, pre-license competition process following the capacity to be announced by the relevant administration.
Associate Degree: The necessary permits, property acquisition and zoning plan processes after the competition is won.
License: Transactions related to the connection to the grid, the process of finalizing the property acquisition, the implementation of the project approval by the Ministry and the construction phases.

Ministry acceptance: The Ministry’s acceptance process following the completion of the facility and its ability to supply electricity to the system.
Business: Registration and all other business/transactions that must be made after the Ministry’s acceptance.
In the guide on TÜREB’s website at www.tureb.com.tr, separate tags were created for each sub-stage under these five headings. In order to show the investor the right way, these tags, which are prepared one by one for each stage:

– Scope of work
– The prerequisite for its realization, if any,
– Relevant legislation subject to the said stage,
– Institutions and organizations to be addressed in this transaction,
– Detailing the operation of the work and
– Other important/critical statements to be considered were included.

“Installed power in the wind is at the threshold of 10.000 MW”

The Turkish wind industry currently produces approximately 10% of Turkey’s electricity with an installed power of 9,680 MW. “We’ve reached the 10,000 threshold in the wind. TÜREB President Ebru Arıcı said that before the end of 2021, we will have passed 10,000 MW, and stated that with this guide they have created in addition to the digitalization attack of the wind industry, they aim to pave the way for potential investors who are planning to invest in the wind industry in Turkey but are hesitant about the processes. Arıcı added that they will continue to contribute to the growth of the sector and to increase the installed wind power to 25 GW by 2030 with similar studies.
