‘Cengiz Energy’ Will Reach 120 MW Installed Capacity With 28 Turbines…

Continuing to strengthen its portfolio in the field of renewable energy, Cengiz Energy started its wind power plant investment. Three of the turbines in Çankırı and Sinop, whose number will reach 28 in 3 stages, have been commissioned. The installed capacity of the turbines, which will be completed by the end of next year, will be 120 megawatts in total.

Cengiz Energy, one of Turkey’s leading companies in renewable energy investments, has taken an important step to generate electricity from wind energy. Accelerating its investments for a total of 28 turbines to be completed in three stages, Cengiz Energy’s first units of 3 wind power plants (WPP) in Çankırı and Sinop were commissioned and started production. The power plants in Çankırı, Sinop and Kocaeli, where all 28 turbines will be commissioned by the end of 2022, will reach a total installed power of 120 megawatts.

INVESTMENT IN RENEWABLE ENERGY WILL CONTINUE

Expressing that it is exciting to enter a new field in renewable energy with wind power plant investment after hydroelectric and solar power plants, Cengiz Energy Board Member Ahmet Cengiz said, “Çerkeş WPP consisting of 12 turbines in Çankırı, Fener WPP consisting of 1 turbine in Sinop and 9 We will reach 28 turbines with Hamsi WPP consisting of 4 turbines and Karamürsel WPP consisting of 6 turbines in Kocaeli”. Stating that the developments all over the world show that renewable energy investments will increase in the short and medium term, Cengiz said: “The increase in renewable energy use in Turkey, on the one hand, reduces global carbon emissions, and on the other hand, it opens up different areas such as the carbon market. Renewable energy has an important place in Cengiz Energy’s total installed power of 4,775 megawatts. We have many facilities in this area, both jointly and privately. Together with the partnerships, our installed capacity in renewable energy has exceeded 2,500 megawatts. We are the largest producer of hydroelectric power plants in the private sector in Turkey. We will continue to support the use of environmentally friendly renewable energy sources such as water, sun and wind more, and continue to invest in this field, in this period when the preferences of energy sources in the world begin to undergo a significant change.”

IT WILL BE THE ONLY POWER PLANT WITH THREE RESOURCES

Cengiz Energy, which established Turkey’s first and Europe’s largest hybrid power plant in Bingöl, is one of the leading companies in renewable energy. Explaining that they are considering adding wind energy to the Lower Kaleköy Dam and Hybrid Power Plant, which consists of a hydroelectric power plant (HES) and solar power plant (GES), Ahmet Cengiz continued his words as follows: When completed, it will be the only example in the world of hybrid facilities with energy from three sources. After adding RES, we aim to transform this facility into a hub for renewable energy generation applications.” Cengiz Energy also provides electricity distribution and retail sales, as well as natural gas distribution services, in addition to the electricity generation it maintains in hydroelectric, solar, wind and thermal power plants.
