R&D Investment for the Protection of Boron Mine and Wood Poles

Operating 24/7 within the scope of quality, uninterrupted and sustainable electricity service in Samsun, Ordu, Çorum, Amasya and Sinop provinces, YEDAŞ draws attention with its inventions to increase energy quality and provide efficiency with the R&D Project competition held every year by the Energy Market Regulatory Board. .

WE EXTEND THE LIFE OF WOOD POLES

According to the statement made by YEDAŞ, R&D projects for the use of boron mine are increasing day by day in our country, which has 73% of the world’s boron reserves. The R&D Projects of “Protection of Wood Poles with Boron Mine, Product Design and Pilot Practices”, which we developed taking into account our domestic and national resources, started to work after getting approval from EMRA.

With this project, with the work to be done on 500 tree poles in the YEDAŞ field, the decay of the poles will be prevented with the boron added slurry produced by YEDAŞ at the point where the tree poles come into contact with the soil. It was said that with the understanding of domestic raw materials, domestic production and domestic products, the decay of wooden poles will be prevented.

OUR GOAL IS DOMESTIC AND NATIONAL PRODUCT

Hasan Yasir Bora, General Manager of Yeşilırmak Elektrik Dağıtım A.Ş. (YEDAŞ), said, “With this project, it is aimed to increase the visibility and awareness of boron mine in the electricity distribution sector at the point of combating decay in wooden poles. It is aimed to obtain domestic and national products by bringing the product type and mixture with proven effectiveness to commercial maturity. The secret of sustainable success in today’s competitive conditions is to have innovative thinking, change-development and new technology. The key to this process is the importance we attach to R&D studies.”
